Wild & Marr congratulates MGG on the expansion of their Shure Axient Digital inventory. “It was time to expand on what we already have.” said Vernon Liebenberg. Liebenberg is a well-respected RF engineer and owner of VP Productions who collaborates with MGG for their large format festivals and shows. Known to be a master of his craft and is held in high esteem by his peers and an engineer who pays meticulous attention to detail both in his preparation and execution. “In the past we would exhaust the RF inventory we had when we committed to a large format show. Bear in mind smaller format shows do run concurrently with large format shows in certain instances. The recent acquisition alleviates the pressure on inventory.” pointed out Liebenberg “A few years back when we started out with Shure ULX, there was a limitation to the number of channels one could fit into a band but large format shows can require on average from 100 – 140 channels, with Shure Axient Digital, what’s amazing is the number of channels one can fit into a band and it just works. It makes the production better and more efficient especially with 10 second changes between performances.” noted Liebenberg. Mark Gaylard previously had 140 wireless channels and with the recent acquisition of Shure’s Axient Digital, this takes his available channel count of Shure wireless up to a staggering 176 Wireless Channels. “We have done really well with our Shure wireless rental stock especially the UHF R series. Our first units we purchased as early 2008, and now some of these systems are 11 years old and still being used on a daily basis. The new Shure Axient Digital range future proofs our investment for a good 5 years especially with the changes coming to the spectrum that we traditionally have used.” concluded Mark Gaylard, Managing Director of MGG Productions.
